Illustrated Ditties of the Olden Time
Brighton, R Folthorp. 1850, 1 Thus. Pub's Elab Dec Cloth Gilt, 8vo. Westley's binder's ticket is on the lower pastedown, and the binding is a very elaborate stamped gilt design of a stylised trellis pattern surrounding an oval panel containing the title, the whole gilt ruled. All edges gilt, decorative endpapers. The gutta percha binding is weakening, and there is some foxing, more prominently at the front and rear. Throughout the book is very delicately illustrated, the images all contained within the decorative borders which often echo the trellis motif on the covers. Very Good.
