London ,Leoni Lee & Coxhead .(c 1850). With an green and gold coloured lithograph front cover by Ferriss of an ornate design of flowers and leaf like motifs which acts as a frame for the titles . This a piano arrangement of the noted songs The Trotting Pony, Oh Susanna and Come Darkies Sing as sung by Henrietta(Jetty) Treffz(1818-78) who had a considerable light operatic singing career prior to her marriage to Johann Strauss in 1862 and this was one of her great successes. She is in part held responsible for encouraging him to write Tales from Vienna Woods ,the Blue Danube Waltz and Die Fledermaus.The arranger remains obscure. The partnership of publishers Leoni Lee with Coxhead started 1845 and lasted on until 1853 . Folio size with music.Condition Very good.
