WORK HENRY.: Watching for Pa.
London Brewer & Co . c 1870. With a centred full colour unsigned lithograph in the style of Packer and printed by Stannard of three small children at a window waving to a disappearing father. Henry C. Work(1832-1884) wrote some 80 songs including Marching through Georgia(1865)The Ship that never Returned(1868) and Grandfather's Clock (1876). Sung by Vernon Reed of Moore & Burgess Minstrels at St James's Hall London. Vernon Reed worked for the original Christy Minstrels that became the Moore and Burgess Troupe certainly from 1868-87. Harry Reynolds lists him as the first really good minstrel tenor in Britain. Folio size with music. Condition Good.
