Five bands to spine, gilt lettering to spine and gilt horizontal lines next to bands. Teg. 11.5ins x 9ins, [viii], 484pp plus double page panorama and 2pp plates. Also approx 40 other illustrations within the text as per the list of illustrations. Bookplate to front pastedown. A few section of the book have paragraphs underlined in pencil, and/or margin notes (mainly page references). These can be erased. Corners bumped and worn. Small split to edge of spine. Externally G+, Internally VG.
