Title: An Introduction to the Collecting and History of Whitby Prints (2 vol set)
Description: Horne & Son, Whitby, 1931, limited edition of 210 copies. This no 81. Two volume set with matching binding of white cloth with gilt lettering to spine and gilt arms of Whitby Abbey to front cover. Each 12.75ins x 11ins. Volume one (A-K) illustration of Whitby Abbey and limitation information to front pastedown, xxi, including a large folding map (laid on linen), followed by 127 illustrations each accompanied by text notes and interspersed with blank pages provided to enable the collector to add additional illustrations and comments. Vol two (L-Z) illustration to front pastedown, [ii], 110 illustrations, text, blank leaves as before, addenda of unclassified prints containing 35 illustrations and accompanying text, 30pp diary of Whitby events, 11pp indices, 7pp list of subscribers. Limitation page signed by the author. Some light foxing to text pages but overall a VG copy of a scarce and comprehensive work. NB a very heavy set, weighing just over 7kg pre-packing. Overseas postage will be very expensive.
