Title: a handbook of Pictorial History
Description: Charles & Son, London, 1914, 1st edition. Blue cloth boards, white lettering to front board, bevelled edges, no dustwrapper. 8.25ins x 6.25ins, [ii], 194pp, 4pp adverts. Within the text are 60pp plates containing ""680 illustrations from original & contemorary sources treating upon Architecture, Arms and Armour, Antiquities, Costumes, Customs, Shipping, Heraldry, the Church, etc."" Contents are presented chronologically starting with the stone age and advancing through to George III. Lacks front free end paper, half title browned. Piece one and half inches by one inch cut from top of title page - text not affected. Contents otherwise ok. Externally the spine is darkened and there is a brown mark to the rear board. Overall G to G+.
