Volume XLIV, from 25th March 1910 to 17th June 1910, numbers 563-575. 4to, 335 x 240 mm, 13 x 9½ inches, profusely illustrated with photographs and cartoons mainly by Tony Wilkinson, plus many adverts, most illustrated, pages (4) - general title page and index, 284, in original publisher's orange cloth, ruled in black on upper cover and spine, gilt lettered with 2 gilt golf ornaments to upper cover, gilt lettered spine. Spine faded and lightly soiled, slightly worn at head and tail with tiny nicks and tiny chips to cloth, covers lightly marked, gilt on spine and upper cover partly rubbed away, occasional slight rippling to pages, contents otherwise clean and bright. Binding tight and firm. A very good copy of 12 issues of a very rare periodical, packed with fascinating articles on the game, the players, their clubs around the country and abroad, and their tournaments. Golf Illustrated is described as the Official Organ of the Professional Golfers' Association. This weekly periodical was started in 1890 under the title Golf and continued from 1899 under the title Golf Illustrated. The American periodical of the same title did not appear until 1914.
