First edition, Ivree, de l'Imprimerie de la Societe d'Agriculture, an 13 - 1804. 8vo, 190 x 120 mm, 7½ x 4½ inches, 2 folding engraved plates, one of agricultural buildings, the other a field plan, pages (8), 136, contemporary quarter mottled calf over marbled sides, parchment corners, gilt decorated spine, gilt lettered morocco label, edges speckled red. Slight wear to marbled paper on upper cover next to spine, small chip to top of upper hinge, small piece missing from lower corner of half-title, small closed tear to inner edge of both folding plates, not affecting image and neatly repaired. Binding tight and firm. A very good copy. The Italian town of Ivrea which is in the Piedmont region where the domain of Mandria de Chivas is situated, was captured by the French in 1800. Under the French Empire it became the capital of the departement of La Doire, reverting to Italy at the end of Napoleon's rule. Images sent on request.
