Circa 1803-1847. 200 x 155 mm, 8 x 6 inches, 63 pages on paper with watermarks, some with dates of 1803 and 1811, the first page with a date is page 6. The watermarks are difficult to see as they are in the inner margin. At the back there are 16 pages mostly folding in letter form, mounted on stubs, two with dates of 1842 and 1846, 1 with a water mark dated 1847, and a blank page at rear has watermark Bunes Edwards 1835, 1 has a small wax seal, all pages written in old ink, bound together in a full vellum binding with gilt lettering to upper cover, marbled endpapers. Age browning to outer margins, indentation from the wax seal on a few pages, 3 of the folding pages have been professionally repaired on the blank side, not affecting text. The recipes are mostly easy to read. Very good tight copy, no loose pages. It seems as though the collection was started in the early 1800's and added to over the following years up to 1846.
