Mallory. Boston, Redding & Co., 1848. 2 ITEMS ON BUNKER HILL. A seven panel concertina folded panorama, opening to 1220 x 225 mm, 48" x 9" showing the remarkable view from the monument with a key to 160 items of interest underneath which are briefly described in the text. The frontispiece is a charming engraving of the monument itself with tissue guard. A 16 page booklet is bound with the panorama, this contains 'some little historical and statistical matter... also a very brief notice of the Battle of Bunker Hill, and an account of the Monument'. Bound in the original publisher's dark brown morocco grain cloth with elaborate gilt decoration and gilt lettering to upper cover. The spine has been very skilfully rebacked, slighest wear to corners, original endpapers retained, front free endpaper with neat faint signature, small professional repair to lower corner of title page, a few splits to lower edge of folds on panorama, all expertly repaired on reverse, one very short closed tear to lower edge, a little browned in the margins. Small split to top of lower hinge, now neatly stuck down, frontispiece very lightly browned, occasional very light foxing. A very good bright copy. Images sent on request.
