First edition, 255 x 155 mm, 10" x 6", 116 illustrations, several full page, pages vii, 718, bound in half crushed morocco, marbled sides, raised bands and gilt lettering to spine, marbled endpapers. Binding in very good state, corners very slightly rubbed, couple of small ink spots to 1 margin within, otherwise contents very nice, binding tight and firm. Overall an excellent copy of a scarce work on gastronomy. See Bitting, Gastronomic Bibliography, page 277: 'A most comprehensive and valuable book on the history of the table.
