First edition, 8 delightful tissue guarded mounted colour plates, charming b/w illus throughout, many full page. 285 x 215, 11½" x 8¾", red buckram gilt lettering & illustration on front & spine, 312 pp. Very slight wear to head, tail & corners, couple of 3 mm nicks to cloth at head of spine, very slight wear to gilt on front cover, gilt on front & spine still bright & very attractive, front inner paper hinge cracked. Old neat bookplate mounted on pastedown, portrait of Marie Queen of Rumania from magazine mounted on front end paper. Rusty paperclip mark to top edge of front end paper & half-title, top edges of pages just very faintly browned, very slight horizontal crease to some top margins, 2 small closed edge tears to 1 top margin expertly repaired. Plates perfect. Clean bright copy. No loose pages. Images sent on request.
