London, Smith Elder. 1860. Hard Cover. 8vo, cloth boards marbled in red and black with brown cloth spine. Pp VII, 760, with twelve full-page illustrations with tissue guards, and other drawings in the text. Pages 487-8 are lacking. Thackeray, the first editor of the Cornhill, contributes several of the articles, including "The Four Georges" and "The Roundabout Papers" numbers 5 to 9. Other contributors include Anthony Trollope, with several parts of "Framley Parsonage", and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, with the poem "The Great God Pan".
