Description: Published privately and by Thacker and Spink, Calcutta, c1903. this book is a collection of reprints from The Calcutta Review and Macmillan's Magazine and other titles including The Annals of an Indian Family by Cherry and The Founding of Fort St. George, Madras by William Foster. There is no general title page, but some title pages for sections within, handwritten contents page along with notes in the text about the sources of the articles and stories. The front free endpaper is signed by H. E. A. Cotton author of "John Company's Padres and their Parish" . Other titles are: Tranquebar; Anjengo; Kitty Kilpatrick; Serampore and Madame Grand; The Serampore Portrait: Is it Madam Grand?, The Centenary of Seringapatam; The Temple of Sompalle; Pondicherry Past and Present; His Majesty's Regiment de Meuron; John Company's Padres and their Parish, Hansi and its History; The Annals of an Indian Family; The Founding of Fort St. George, Madras. Some titles refer to newspaper articles that are glued onto blank pages. There are also 3 black and white plates. First Edition, spine faded with wear to top and tail including small tears, corners are scuffed, small ink stains to boards, good condition, blue cloth with gilt title and bands to spine, 21 cm x 13 cm, Hardback, SIGNED by one author.
