Clarke [and others], 1764" "12mo., with an engraved portrait frontispiece and 12 engraved plates, all by Hayman after Miller, frontispiece neatly mounted, text mildly age-stained (but on the whole plates rather cleaner), eighteenth and nineteenth century signatures on title verso, a few ink splashes on publisher's advertisement leaves, fore-edges dusty; contemporary full calf, sides with double gilt frame border, neatly rebacked in calf with five raised bands, second compartment with leather label ruled and lettered in gilt, all other compartments ruled and tooled in blind with a floral device, a good, tight copy. With 2 leaves of publisher's advertisements at rear, and the arguments to each book.Still a pleasant copy in sympathetically restored contemporary binding."
