Faber & Gwyer, [1928] 8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, front and rear preliminaries lightly browned, original cloth, gilt back, yellow top, uncut, backstrip lightly faded (but all gilt entirely legible), a very good, clean copy. Sassoon's first published work in prose and a classic of the genre. The author's name was not printed until the second issue of the second impression. This is the so-called 'second issue' with 'A' on blank leaf preceding half-title, though Keynes states that these 'typographical irregularities have no significance whatever, since they were both printed and published at the same time'.
