Laver, as well as being an author and broadcaster, was one of the Keepers at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He reviews the theatre from its greek and roman beginnings, and ends with a chapter on developments after the first world war. A good copy, price-clipped but not inscribed, the jacket has two small losses to spine. Near Fine/Very Good +.
