Smith on behalf of those whom he represented that there should be an exemption in favour of shippbuilding, engine-building, electrical engineering, machine-tool making, motor car and cycle manufacturing, machine making and auxillary machinery making works." In list of objectors is the newly formed Rolls Royce Ltd. of Cooke Street, Hulme, Manchester.
