, Together five volumes rebound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe with inner gilt ruling, bound in crushed red morocco with gilt ruling to edges, dec. gilt filleted raised bands with gilt ruled compartments to spines, each spine with gilt lettering and four gilt motifs depicting holly, mistletoe, oak leaves, a bell, a crown, a robin, a heart, and owl and an imp, the last two vols. with minor discolouring, a.e.g., a handsome set of the sought after collection. ¶ Christmas Carol: First Edition, third state, title page printed in red and blue, half title and verso of title page printed in blue, on Page [1] the heading Stave 1 has been changed to Stave One; balance of text uncorrected. The Chimes: First Edition, First state, with Chapman & Hall centered and slightly curved in a cloud at the foot of the vignette title and beneath the depiction D. Maclise, R.A. del. in the inner margin and F.P. Becker, sc. in the outer. Battle of Love: Fourth state Vignette title page with ‘A Love Story’ more elaborate and the scroll is carried by a cupid, but without the imprint.
