ΒΆ Biography of James Sharp [ 1618 - 1679 ] who became Archbishop of St Andrews in 1661. Originally a staunch Presbyterian & Covenanter who, upon the Restoration of Charles II turned against all he had formerly stood for & was Concecrated Primate of all Scotland. Soon after his consecration he began a policy of repression against the Covenantors & was assassinated in 1679. Even today is is seen as a Scotish traitor. The publication date of 1678 on the title is erroneous, the original text from which this edition is taken having been printed in 1719. Offered for GBP 38.00 = appr.
