Cloth, G. 62pp+9pp publishers adverts, covers with a crease down the middle of the board, endpaper & title detached, several old sellotape repairs which have yellowed, contents a little grubby & rubbed through use. A worn, but complete copy. Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ Interesting graphical arts manual intended to show retailers how to make large advertising announcements for display outside their shops. The book gives advice on the correct writing impliments, how to chose & mount the board, inks - and how to mix & varnish, gilding, block lettering, design of the layout, holland blinds, paper lettering and lithographic work. The book shows several specimin alphabets as well as completed designs. Uncommon, only the Oxford & BL copies of the first edition recoreded on COPAC.
