WILKINSON, SPENSER - Moltke's Military Correspondence, 1870-71

Title: Moltke's Military Correspondence, 1870-71
Description: Gregg Revivals, UK, 1991. First Edition, Hardcover. Fine Condition. 9780751200409 148 Pages. Field Marshall Helmuth von Moltke (1800-1891) was the most famous European soldier of the nineteenth-century. As chief of the Prussian (and later German) general staff from 1857-1890 he put his stamp on that elite military institution and developed it as the 'brain of the army' which, under his direction, played a decisive role in Prussia's victorious campaign against Austria in 1866 and France in 1870-1871. Moltke's personal account of his strategic war planning and handling of operations and military politics during his culminating campaign, which led to the unification of Germany, is still of great interest to military historians. Size: 1.9 x 14.6 x 22.9 cm. 148 pages. Multiple copies available this title. Quantity Available: 2. Category: History; Hardbacks; Gregg Revivals. ISBN: 0751200409. ISBN/EAN: 9780751200409.
