Lady Fox was in charge of the excavations which took place in Exeter following the severe bombing of the city in 1942. As in other Roman towns which suffered damage, the opportunity was taken to carry out a full-scale survey, but Exeter is the first to produce a complete archaeological report. Perhaps the most interesting discovery was of a complete Romano-British timber house of the pre-Flavian period. The report is published here, well illustrated by photographs and plans of the excavations.? Book - in Very Good beige boards with gilt lettering. Contents, slight wear small closed tears to the extreme bottom edge to plan/plate xix, slight browning to the free front and rear end paper otherwise clean, bright and tightly bound. Dust Jacket - Good - scattered browning, some closed tears to the top of the spine and extreme top edge all repaired to verso so now nice and tidy. Size: 9.75 inches tall by 7.25 inches. xvi, 104.
