With numerous black-and-white photographs throughout the book, some diagrams and pencil drawings, and 2 maps. Bromyard is in the County of Herefordshire. The book is divided into two parts; the first deals with the social aspects of hop growing and hop picking. A great majority of the hop pickers came from the Black Country and South Wales. The second part of the book deals with how the hops is grown and looked after by the farmer. With past hop-pickers giving their experiences of that time. (9½"h x 7¼"w) (24cms x 18.5cms) approx.
