Bensley... for the Author 1801. 4to, viii, xi, (i), 32, 86 pp. Partly coloured folding frontispiece map showing the whole route and 9 more detailed folding maps (of which one is coloured in outline), plus 7 pictorial plates and 6 further maps - including double page plans of Lewes and “New Shoreham” and a plan of Steyning, occasional very light marginal browning else an excellent bright copy; marbled endpapers and sides. Contemporary half calf, rebacked with new corners also. Originally published in parts, with the maps and illustrations dated variously from 1787 to 1800. Containing a detailed table of distances for Surrey but lacking the one for Sussex. A section describing Southwark has also been noted in other copies, although the nature of the work means no two copies of this scarce atlas are ever the same.
