Description: London: Printed for Charles Rivington at the Bible and Crown in St. Paul's Church-Yard, 1722. Hardcover. 13x20cm. Boards and front free endpaper are detached. Scarred brown leather boards, worn through at corners, five raised bands on spine, backstrip worn away at head and base, gilt bands and icons dulled, gilt titling in black panel slightly cracked. Inside front cover browned at edges, three letters penned at top, printed armorial pastedown in centre. Decorative ex libris pastedown on front free endpaper bears penned name and date (1972). Previous owner's inscription penned to following front endpaper. Title page bears inscription at top from original owner, who penned his name, date (1722), and place and price of purchase. Blank reverse of title page bears another armorial pastedown. Excepting front endpapers and the boards the binding of the block remains sound. Content is variably toned and spotted throughout, lightly in places and significant elsewhere. There are two small ink stains to the block, one at the base adjacent to the spine and one at the fore edge. The rear free endpaper has a >5cm tear from the base edge, and it looks like another rear endpaper has been lost. Rear inside cover browned at edges. Photographs made available upon request.. Good .
