Very good contemporary binding. Contemporary black calf with bright gilt panel and double gilt filet border. Spine with 5 raised bands, carefully strengthened. All edges gilt. Engraved bookplate to verso front board: "Sir John Shaw". Engraved frontis: "The Institution of his last Supper." ; followed by engraved title: "The Christian Sacrifice". (Previous owners name to top of engraved title in a contemporary hand: "Edward Watton". ) ; followed by printed title. Clean English text throughout with good margins. A very clean book.
