No text or pages missing at the pagination jump as the alphabet has finished the letter M and begins with the first word of N. Titlepage with old ownership inscriptions (crossed out) and two library stamps to margins with shelf mark and shelf mark stamp to blank verso a few further marginal faint library stamps. *An alphabetical arrangement of moral and religious topics, first giving a definition, then the divisions of the subject and then what each of the church fathers & classical authorities had to say on the subject. The various references are given in side notes. For PAX-Peace for example there are 142 comments from Thomas A Kempis, Gerson, Venerable Bede et al. This is only the second volume, covering M-Z. It was a reference work for the clergy but also of use to authors, orators and students in this the first edition. Unfoxed wide-margined copy in defective binding.
