Octavo contemporary full blind-stamped calf, spine label missing, hinges starting to split but firmly held by cords. Leather rubbed and bumped at tips. Paper at top of 1st free endpaper torn off for 6mm x 2.5mm Inscriptions on 2nd free endpaper "Collins" and "Given me by Dr. Davis August ye 8th 1741" cannot refer to the editor who was by then dead. Collation: [8] 397 [1 errata] pp. Text with extensive notes in Latin, clean and crisp throughout, one of several classical texts edited by Dr Davies who was President of Queens' College and Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge.
