Gutter corners of most pages nibbled away (max 1") but nowhere near printed area. Pages printed on one side only, the hand coloring is well done and bright. Preface by Hood's daughter Frances Freeling Broderip dated August 1858: "The following story of the 'Precocious Pig' was originally related by our dear father, when the writer of these lines was a little girl, much inclined to cry over poor Piggy's tragical fate; and the artist who illustrates it so appropriately, was a little fat boy, who chuckled over Piggy's misdeeds with intense enjoyment ..".
