Inscribed to Alicia Jessie Davenport dated 1855, minor signs of use with slight edge browning. *Tales from Perrault, Grimm, Tieck, Arndt etc. Includes favorites but not always in the standard version eg. Red Ridinghood - as wolf is about to devour her "a wasp ..stung the wolf in his nostril and made him sneeze which gave the signal to a tom-tit ..which warned the huntsman who let fly arrow. A good selection including many less known ones such as Elves of the Fairy forest, Johnny and Lisbeth, Elfin Plough, Red jacket or Nose tree, Jew in the Bramble bush etc. published under various publisher's imprints. However according to British Library the Addey imprint is the earliest, and Bohn (a Victorian remaindersman) the latest.
