Large Quarto blue decorated boards - later rebacked in red cloth (board tips very worn at edges) frontis + TP in red and black + illustrated contents leaf +71-136pp Part I, not here present, provided illustrations to p.66 in a separate volume. At some time this volume must have had pages fall out as there is a marginal tear out affecting a line of text on two leaves. There are other tears but without loss and a few pages with tatty and dusty edges all of which are now well bound in when the volume was recased and given new endpapers. The original inscribed front free endpaper was retained and carries the date in June 1860. The subject matter of these illustrations are grouped into home, school, country, wayside, sea and animated nature pictures. Not that common as these were often used in Victorian families as scraps for scrapbooks. Offered for GBP 9.50 = appr.
