London, Goode 1850 approx) Plates (5) + text engraving of each Monarch . 1.4"x1" plum paper wraps printed & decorated in gilt (edges slightly chipped/spine rubbed at hinge but fully intact) (Bondy 143 says issued from 1838 (rare) to 1910 in black or purple paper wraps). This is an early but not first edition as Queen Victoria's accession is mentioned but no sign of Albert nor of any children. The illustrations are well printed but the text varies and some pages are under inked, others over inked and thus smudged.
